How to check the size of all folders and files (Windows)

Worrying from no space in your computer!!!

2 days back I have noticed that my laptop C drive was almost full!!! I have not downloaded so many things or installed so many applications, still my C drive (100 GB) was almost full.

I started trying to find which folder is consuming so much space, but going and getting size of each folder in Windows 7 was too much hectic. Then I do google and try to find out some good software/tool for getting file and folder size of my all partitions quickly.

After trying multiple software I downloaded this tool “FolderSize” created by Mindgems. This tool is freeware and provides very good GUI mode for scanning and showing the results. It took 5 minutes for me to scan my C drive and get the folder names which are consuming too much space.

You can download this software at this link: http://www.mindgems.com/software/FolderSize.exe

Tip to use this tool :
  • Run this tool with Administrator privilege, so that it can scan system folder and files size also. It is required for proper details if you are scanning your system drive (C drive).
